Twenty-five companies, including banks, billers, third-party processors, bill publishers, and internet portal companies, are measured against Killen's success requirements template.

"Few EBPP suppliers are strong in all of the categories we identified," said Bob Goodwin, senior vice president. "Therefore, partnerships, alliances, and acquisitions have been rampant and will continue to play an important role as this market rapidly escalates."

The success requirements template highlights ten critical factors that comprehensive EBPP solutions must address. Three of these factors are: vendor's ability to provide access to electronic bills, competence in operating customer service centers for billers and expanding their merchandising, and faculties to set up mega-bill systems with other vendors.
