There also will be areas for shakeout and cleaning to allow for recycling of gating and sand before the company's products are moved to another building for finishing, powder-coating and final assembly. "The construction of our new facility is also driven by capacity needs," Meade said. The new facility will add 4 tons/hour to their melt capacity, leaving ample room for any increases in demand. The new facility complements molding lines in EBAA's existing Eastland plant, which manufactures products at or under 20 in. in diameter. The new nobake molding facility will produce 24- and 30-in. retainers on an automatic molding line. All rings larger than 30 in. will be cast on a separate molding line, along with the company's flexible expansion joints.
