SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  - The Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  Youth Project is distributing information about its resources for troubled teens through McDonald's restaurant drive-through lines.

Five Santa Clarita McDonald's owned by the Schutz family are participating in the program to distribute brochures geared to youths and their families.

Information on the handout includes emergency numbers, resources and hotlines regarding alcohol and substance abuse, child abuse and domestic violence, depression, suicide, gang and hate crimes, medical problems, pregnancy and rape counseling and shelter.

The Youth Project provides a place where teens and their friends and families can get information to help and encourage them. It is a nonprofit organization Nonprofit Organization

An association that is given tax-free status. Donations to a non-profit organization are often tax deductible as well.
