EATERY OFFERS MEALS HOMELESS.

PALMDALE - Steer `N Stein Restaurant will serve 300 Christmas meals for the needy and homeless from noon to 3 p.m. Monday.

A bus will pick up Lancaster residents at Grace Resource Center at noon, take them to the Palmdale restaurant, and return them to Grace Resources by 2:30 p.m.

Steer 'N Stein employees, friends and family volunteered to serve the meal, which will include roasted turkey, wheatberry stuffing, whipped potatoes with sage gravy, cranberry sauce and a vegetable.

Tickets are required for the event because the restaurant will be closed to the general public. Tickets are available at no charge from a number of organizations, including SAVES, 37925 Sierra Highway, Palmdale; Grace Resources, 44932 Yucca yucca (yŭk`ə), any plant of the genus Yucca, stiff-leaved stemless or treelike succulents of the family Liliaceae (lily family), native chiefly to the tablelands of Mexico and the American Southwest but found also in the E United States and the West Indies. Ave., Lancaster; Salvation Army, 45001 Beech Ave., Lancaster; and the Lancaster Homeless Shelter, on Yucca Avenue at Newgrove Street.
