EASYJET BOSS TO GO EARLY.

Byline: THOMAS MARTIN

EASYJET chairman Stelios Haji-Ioannou Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, KBE (born 14 February 1967 in Athens) is a Greek-Cypriot born British entrepreneur and is best known for setting up easyJet, a low-cost airline. Early days  brought forward his departure date today after the successful acquisition of rival budget airline Go.

Mr Haji-Ioannou, who set up easyJet in 1995, planned to leave next year to focus on other business interests.

But he has brought forward these plans and today said he would step down on November 26, the day easyJet posts full-year figures.

Mr Haji-Ioannou said the airline, which has its main bases in Liverpool and Luton, was running smoothly. The integration of Go, which easyJet bought for pounds 374m, was well under way.
