EARTH FAIR TO BENEFIT KIDS WITH CANCER.Byline: Daily News VALENCIA -- An Earth Fair on Sunday at Valencia's Paseo Club will raise money for a local nonprofit A corporation or an association that conducts business for the benefit of the general public without shareholders and without a profit motive. The carnival-type event will bring people together for a day of fun, food, music and games to benefit Mac's Project, a group created by Chuck and Teri Maier of Valencia. Mac's Project is named after the Maiers' middle daughter, Mackenzie, who battled cancer from October 2004 to January 2006 and is now cancer-free. The name is an acronym acronym: see abbreviation. Many local schools and businesses have been provided with Mac's Project recycling bins, the proceeds of which raise money for cancer-stricken families while keeping the planet healthy through recycling. Sunday's event will also recognize youths who recycle for Mac's Project through their schools.
