EAI ELECTS JAMES SHANLEY CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

 WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J., May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- James F. Shanley, a financial executive with eight years of experience as chief financial officer for other companies, was elected vice president, secretary and chief financial officer of Electronic Associates, Inc. (NYSE: EA).
 A certified public accountant, Shanley brings to EAI 20 years of background in corporate finance and five years with a Big Six accounting firm. Before joining EAI Shanley was senior vice president of finance and administration for a multiplant high volume consumer products manufacturer. Earlier he was vice president of finance of an electronics and food company and treasurer of Keene Corporation. Before that he served as a division controller with Crane Co. and an audit supervisor for accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand.
 A resident of Berkeley Heights, Shanley holds an MBA degree in finance from Seton Hall University and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Manhattan College. He served three years as a U.S. Navy officer after graduation from Manhattan College.

 EAI is currently engaged in three related business lines, serving users and producers of electronic products and systems. In contract manufacturing, EAI provides manufacturing services for products designed and marketed by customers. In field service, the company offers independent maintenance of electronic equipment, with technicians across the United States and in Japan. In product engineering, EAI provides simulation computer products plus design and engineering services to private industry and government agencies. The company's common stock has traded on the New York Stock Exchange since 1962.
