Oak Park senior Bobby Hillard didn't care how Tri-Valley co-leader Santa Clara Santa Clara, city, Cuba

of Oxnard did Wednesday night. Hillard's Oak Park squad topped Oaks Christian of Westlake Village 70-63 to win at least a share of its seventh straight league crown, and that was more than enough.

"I'm just happy that we got the league title," said Hillard, who led the Eagles with 20 points.

Oak Park (19-6, 11-1) jumped out to a 35-18 lead, but had to fend fend

and sophomore guard Andy Winningham running the point, Ramirez liked what he was getting himself into.

"I like (the pressure)," Ramirez said. "You demand perfection and you go with it, it's a great place. There's no reason it shouldn't happen every year."

Oaks Christian cut Oak Park's lead to six points early in the fourth quarter behind Tyler McGrath's 20 points, but Oak Park's underclassmen stepped up. Junior Samuel Levine Samuel "Red" Levine (b. 1903) was an American mobster, one of the more colorful characters of New York's underworld. Surprisingly little is known about Sam Levine, however what is known is that Levine (or Joseph Brown  made one of his four 3-pointers to stretch the lead back to nine, and several possessions later, when Oaks Christian got within five at 53-48, Winningham and sophomore Blake Davenport Davenport, city (1990 pop. 95,333), seat of Scott co., E central Iowa, on the Mississippi River; inc. 1836. Ramirez said the game was a learning experience for Winningham.

Breaking the pressure was as simple as getting the ball to the middle of the floor, but for the second part of the second quarter Oak Park was unable to do so.

But Oak Park didn't panic and made the right plays when it had to.

Levine had 18 points, Davenport had 14 and Winningham added 13.
