Pool, involved replacing the boards on the benches and picnic tables
outside the center. The project required 158 hours and 25 helpers.
Oakridge sophomore
to become Eagle Scout
Blake Ritz, a member of Troop No. 164 in Oakridge, will be honored
at an Eagle Court of Honor at 2 p.m. Sunday at Oakridge United Methodist
Church. Eagle Scout is the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts.
Ritz, a sophomore at Oakridge High School, is the son of Norman and
Beth Ritz of Oakridge. He earned 23 merit badges and is a member of
Order of the Arrow. He served as troop historian, patrol leader and
assistant patrol leader.
His service project, completed for the city of Oakridge, involved
building a concession stand at Siuslaw Valley Amphitheater at
Greenwaters Park. The project required 237 hours and 31 helpers.
