E-Feud.Maybe this town isn't big e-nough for the both of 'em. The Web site LAVoice.org launched recently, and instantly attacked LA.com. "Somewhere beneath the surface of L.A.'s roiling cyberstew, an enormous rather pungent pun·gent adj. 1. Affecting the organs of taste or smell with a sharp acrid sensation. 2. a. Penetrating, biting, or caustic: pungent satire. b. bubble A bit in bubble memory or a symbol in a bubble chart. of overperfumed and disappointingly airheaded grrrl-power ... is poised to burst forth," LAVoice.org's Mack Reed writes of L.A.com. Reed dismisses the site, which is still in its preview stage, as "heavy with celebrity froth, 'hipster' information on L.A. clubs and eateries and in general, candy-flavored noise." He then acknowledges that he had applied for the job of LA.com editor, which was assigned to Laurie Pike pike, in zoology pike, common name for the family Esocidae, freshwater game and food fishes of Europe, Asia, and North America.
