AgWeb plans to refocus its resources on opportunities within the agricultural Internet arena and its electronic marketing services business. AgWeb says it is working with Data Transmission Network Corp. to offer a special promotion to its existing AgWeb satellite subscribers.

Powerfarm.com, an agricultural e-commerce Web site, has formed an alliance with MachineryLink, an independent online resource for farmers who want to buy, sell, share or learn about farm machinery. The relationship will include content exchange, joint marketing and unique product offerings. MachineryLink's aggregated classified equipment auctions and a unique equipment-sharing program will initially be available for Powerfarm users. Powerfarm.com and its parent company Ag Services of America will provide an equipment financing option.

The AgriAmerica Network, Indianapolis, has launched AgriAmerica. com, a Web site designed to serve the informational needs of the Indiana farm community. The site is a multimedia site where farmers can hear farm news reports as well as audio market comments directly from the trading floors. The site will also publish a daily newsletter with a summary of farm news, markets and weather, which will be e-mailed to farmers who register. The site was produced in a cooperative venture with Verdisys, a Fresno, Calif., firm providing Internet and e-commerce technology to agriculture.
