The E&S Simulation Technology Training Center will offer in-depth classroom and hands-on instruction in the operation, maintenance, and repair of all simulator subsystems with the goal of producing certified See certification.  simulator technicians.

The new training program will be offered to customers in phases, with Phase 1 providing more accessible and affordable visual system and database modeling training.

Subsequent phases will expand the curriculum to include other simulator subsystems -- including motion systems, host computers, sensors, and cockpit This article is about the flight deck of an aircraft. For other uses, see Cockpit (disambiguation).

E&S developed the training center in response to the growing demand for trained simulator technicians. Currently, both military and commercial simulation customers must rely on training from vendors, on-the-job training conducted by in-house personnel, or formal training programs offered by technical colleges and universities.

These options can be expensive and often do not provide the kind of specialized spe·cial·ize

training in the newest technologies that is important for qualified simulator technicians.

"Over the past few years, we have heard a consistent theme from our customers," said Nicholas Gibbs, general manager, E&S Service and Support. "They have made substantial investments in simulation equipment, and they need qualified technicians to protect those investments. To ensure that they have those qualified technicians, they need affordable, quality training taught by experienced field service engineers.

"In addition, there is a shortage of qualified sim techs. We have conducted our own surveys and analyses, and we believe that the demand for sim techs will more than double over the next five years. The Sim Tech Training Center will help our customers and the industry address this demand."
