E&S Visuals To Train Korean Air Force Pilots.Business Editors & Technology Writers SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 25, 2002 Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation (E&S(R)) (Nasdaq:ESCC ESCC Eastern Shore Community College ESCC East Sussex County Council ESCC Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma ESCC Enhanced Serial Communication(s) Controller ESCC Electrically Self-Calibrating Cavity )--Korean Air Force T-50 pilots will train in one of the world's most advanced full mission simulators, thanks to Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) and Evans & Sutherland. Korea's premiere aerospace company, KAI, has selected E&S to provide a complete visual system solution for its T-50 Golden Eagle
The T-50 Golden Eagle is an early 21st century Korean-American supersonic trainer. It is developed by Korean Aerospace Industries in conjunction with Lockheed Martin. Advanced Jet Trainer full mission simulator. Under the terms of the contract, E&S will deliver a fully integrated system that includes its next-generation Harmony(R) II image generators, a 24-foot, 320-degree horizontal by 130-degree vertical field-of-view dome display with two E&S TargetView(TM) target projectors, database modeling training, and modeling tools. In addition, a three-channel Harmony image generator will be supplied for modeling use. Used on a number of large, advanced military programs, Evans & Sutherland's Harmony image generator represents a revolutionary new approach to visual systems for simulation. Harmony combines advanced rendering algorithms and conventional and advanced simulation and sensor capabilities with PC technology to form a unique, open-architecture image generator that is especially well suited for demanding military simulation Military simulations, also known informally as war games, are simulations in which theories of warfare can be tested and refined without the need for actual hostilities. Many professional analysts object to the term wargames applications. Designed for high efficiency training, the T-50 will enable pilots to transition quickly to a modern fighter environment. In addition, the T-50 will function as a light combat aircraft. KAI has developed the T-50 in cooperation with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company.
