Since its introduction one year ago, the EPX EPX Enterprise Private Exchange (TM) series of visual systems has won remarkable acceptance within the military simulation Military simulations, also known informally as war games, are simulations in which theories of warfare can be tested and refined without the need for actual hostilities. Many professional analysts object to the term wargames  world. At I/ITSEC I/ITSEC Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference  2004 this week E&S will be showcasing this revolutionary product line, along with new advanced capabilities and a stunningly realistic visual database in the company's booth, #1000.

"The rapid market acceptance of EPX is unprecedented in this industry," said E&S President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Jim Oyler. "Last year we gave the military simulation community a glimpse of the future as we unveiled the EPX product line. To date, we have already accepted orders for over 2,500 visual simulator channels based on this powerful Environment Processor technology. We staked our success on the idea that customers would value rapid database development, portability, and freedom of choice in hardware platforms Each hardware platform, or CPU family, has a unique machine language. All software presented to the computer for execution must be in the binary coded machine language of that CPU. Following is a list of the major hardware platforms in existence today. See platform. , and we've now proven that this is exactly what the market wanted."

EPX is E&S' revolutionary Environment Processor technology with military extensions, including sensor support, mission functions and weapons effects. EPX is available in a full range of hardware capability, ranging from the EPX-50 which runs on commercially available (COTS) PC hardware, up to the EPX-5000 which includes E&S' unique Pixel Engine(TM) renderer for the most realistic imagery available on any simulator. All EPX systems employ a breakthrough layered architecture which enables the system to store database components in source format, and assembles them in real-time during a simulation. The result is incredibly quick creation and modification of complex visual databases, and it attacks what is rapidly becoming the dominant cost factor in visual simulation: the content itself.

On display will be a new benchmark in terms of visual fidelity and range; a photorealistic Having the image quality of a photograph.  simulation area with 3-inch resolution, up to 250-mile visibility, and unsurpassed richness and detail in terms of 3D features. Weapons effects, dynamic host-controlled terrain changes, weather, sensors and other features vital to military training will all be shown on the EPX visual systems at the show. Also shown will be ECT ECT electroconvulsive therapy.

E&S' advanced image generators can also be seen in other booths at I/ITSEC, including 3D Perception, RUAG and Christie Digital.
