E&S Digistar 3 to Power GOTO's New Virtuarium.

Business Editors

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 27, 2003

Evans & Sutherland Computer Corp. (E&S(R)) (NASDAQ: ESCC)--E&S Digistar(R) 3, the revolutionary new digital product for domed theaters, will power the next-generation Virtuarium from GOTO (1) In a high-level programming language, a statement that directs the computer to go to some other part of the program. Low-level language equivalents are "branch" and "jump."

(2) In dBASE, a command that directs the user to a specific record in the file.

(3) In word processing, a command that directs the user to a specific page number.
Optical Manufacturing Co., Japan's largest manufacturer of optical projection systems for digital imaging and domed theaters.

The new Virtuarium is GOTO's second-generation digital imaging and projection system. Under the terms of this groundbreaking agreement, Digistar 3 will replace the SGI system that was used in the first-generation Virtuarium product. The company has also purchased a Digistar 3 for use in the GOTO demonstration theater located in Tokyo. GOTO will add custom features to Digistar 3 for its Asian clients, such as regional user interfaces and interactive software.

In addition to Digistar 3, E&S has signed an agreement to provide GOTO with show content, including the new Universe, and Japanese distribution rights for The Future is Wild. With more than 10 titles currently available, E&S offers the largest library of show content in the all-dome digital theater industry.

For GOTO, the choice was clear -- Digistar 3 was by far the most advanced and affordable all-dome imaging and presentation system available. "It enables planetariums orrery (for Charles Boyle, earl of Orrery) was a forerunner of the planetarium. It is a framework supporting globes that represent the sun, planets, and natural satellites in their approximate sizes and spatial relations and in their revolutions and rotations. Several orreries were built in the 16th and 17th cent. to explain the Copernican (heliocentric) model of the solar system. Today the orrery finds considerable use as an aid in the teaching of celestial mechanics. and digital theaters to provide their audiences with amazing, immersive experiences," said Nobutaka Goto. "And, since Digistar 3 offers all of its advanced features in one integrated system, it is very affordable. It eliminates the need for the auxiliary projectors currently used in most planetariums. Its rich, bright color graphics also make it a wonderful system for nonplanetarium, simulation theater applications."

"We are delighted that GOTO chose E&S for the new Virtuarium," said E&S President and CEO James Oyler. "We are confident that this agreement will lead to other areas of cooperation between the two companies, resulting in great sales for both companies throughout Asia."
