) Program. This order exercises an option from the initial 2004 production contract, awarded in January for 111 systems, which consisted of more than 1,000 PC-based visual channels. The new order is for 230 systems with more than 2,000 channels. E&S' EPX EPX Enterprise Private Exchange (TM)-50 image generator was selected on the original contract as a result of a rigorous competitive evaluation of a number of PC-based solutions. EPX-50 uses E&S' revolutionary Environment Processor software with military extensions (EPX) and runs on standard PC hardware equipped with state-of-the-art commercially available graphics accelerators.

"The EPX-50 is delivering on the promise of advanced PC-based simulation, and the U.S. Army's new award is a strong vote of confidence in this platform," said E&S Simulation Systems General Manager Nick Gibbs. "CCTT is unique in terms of its size, scope and requirements. The flexibility inherent in the EPX-50 hardware and software was a key element in delivering the latest visual technology to such a large, demanding program in a remarkably short time."

The CCTT visual upgrade program was awarded through PEO-STRI's Omnibus contract. The contract, known as STOC STOC Symposium on Theory of Computing
STOC ST1100 Owners Club (Honda Motorcycle)
STOC Special Technical Operations Center (US DoD)
STOC Special Tactics Operations Center

, prequalified E&S and a number of other companies for contracts with PEO-STRI. The CCTT program has fielded nearly 450 simulators to provide tactical training for combined-arms battlefield situations for heavy forces (heavy armor, fighting vehicles and cavalry units).

About EPX
