LOS ANGELES, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- E! Entertainment Television has

acquired the exclusive North American rights to "Late Night With David Letterman" from NBC Enterprises, it was announced today by Fran Shea, E!'s senior vice president, Programming.
E! has licensed 509 episodes of "Late Night," which had a hugely successful 10-year run on NBC. Included in the deal, which runs for five years, are nine Letterman anniversary specials. The shows will run on E! in prime time. The premiere date will be announced shortly.
Says Shea: "David Letterman is the epitome of cutting-edge humor and entertainment, and we're thrilled to be able to bring his shows to prime time on E! He's one of the hottest personalities in entertainment today, and we're confident his presence on E! will bring many new viewers to the network."

E! offers compelling celebrity interviews, talk shows, news, documentaries, behind-the-scenes, comedy, classic variety shows, movie previews, and the most comprehensive coverage of the entertainment industry's awards shows.
