Dynamex orchestrates emergency trans-border transportation solution

requiring more than 20 air charters

supported by ground pickup and delivery

Last week Dynamex Inc. (Amex: DDN), successfully responded to the time critical needs of a manufacturing based client by moving material from a shipper in Ohio to an assembly line in Ontario, Canada on an emergency basis.

The solution involved utilizing chartered aircraft which made just over 20 flights combined with ground pickup and delivery capacity plus intricate coordination with Canada customs. The solution also involved special clearance for the pilots during each flight in order to comply with new national security procedures.

"We had a few hours during the first evening to create and organize the solution, and effective 11 a.m. the next morning, the first air charter left Ohio with parts bound for Ontario," said Graham Hood, operations manager of Dynamex in Cambridge, Ontario. "Due to changes with manufacturing schedules, plans were modified as needed about every three hours for the next two days around the clock. In total, over 20 flights and 42 short-haul truck schedules were executed during a 48-hour time frame.
