Dynacq Reports Hospital Expansion.

HOUSTON--(BW HealthWire)--June 21, 2001

Because of the increased demand and limited current capacity, Dynacq International Inc. (Nasdaq:DYII) has begun the expansion construction of its Vista Medical Center Hospital. The state of Texas has approved the plans for expansion of the existing facility creating two additional operating rooms operating room

 and associated recovery rooms. The expansion will result in a 100% increase in the facility's surgical capacity.

After securing bids for the roughly $750,000 project, the successful contractor has obtained all necessary building permits and estimates the project will be completed no later than the first quarter of the fiscal year 2002. The renovation is designed to enhance the company's commitment to the delivery of quality and efficient healthcare.

This project will not interfere with current operations. All cost will be paid out of existing earnings and no debt will be incurred.
