Dynacq International Reports Continued Strong Growth In First Quarter Fiscal Year 2003 Results.

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 14, 2003

Dynacq International Inc. (Nasdaq:DYII) today reported continued strong growth in overall financial performance in the first quarter ending Nov. 30, 2002 for fiscal year 2003. Net revenue increased 30% to $17,933,926, from $13,763,110 for the corresponding prior year quarter, and net income before cumulative effect of a change in accounting principle increased 24% to $4,185,666, from $3,377,615 for the corresponding prior year quarter. Basic earnings per share increased 22% to $0.28 from $0.23 and fully diluted earnings per share diluted earnings per share

An earnings measure calculated by dividing net income less preferred stock dividends for a period by the average number of shares of common stock that would be outstanding if all convertible securities were converted into shares of
