Durst shuttles tenants the natural way.


The Durst Organization announced that the first privately owned, commercially used, natural gas powered, ADA Ada, city, United States
Ada (ā`ə), city (1990 pop. 15,820), seat of Pontotoc co., S central Okla.; inc. 1904. It is a large cattle market and the center of a rich oil and ranch area.
 compliant bus in the Northeast has begun operating.

The bus is a 2006 Freightliner, built by Champion Bus Corp and is entirely powered by compressed natural gas Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a substitute for gasoline (petrol) or diesel fuel. It is considered to be an environmentally "clean" alternative to those fuels. It is made by compressing natural gas (which is mainly composed by methane (CH4 .

The bus has a range of 240 miles and fueling will be done at the Con Edison facility on West 29th Street in Manhattan.

"The Durst Organization is committed to environmental innovation," said assistant vice president Helena Durst.

"The Helena is one of the first 'green buildings' in the City and it is appropriate that we are expanding our commitment to clean air for New Yorkers by using a compressed natural gas shuttle bus. I hope other building owners will follow our lead and adopt clean air technology for their shuttle buses and support vehicles."

 hydraulic wheelchair lift, and secured positions for two wheelchairs. The bus was built to specifications agreed on by Michael Baer of MSB MSB - Most Significant Bit  & Me Inc., and The Durst Organization, and took over seven months to complete.

MSB & Me Inc. purchased the bus exclusively to use as the resident shuttle between The Helena and Columbus Circle.
