Guest reports: Dunlap Resources Ltd., and its subsidiaries, (the "Company"), is pleased to announce progress and plans for work during 1997 on its highly prospective 143,600 hectare Aceh property in N.W. Sumatra, Indonesia, which is under joint venture with and operated by a subsidiary of Barrick Gold Corporation ("Barrick"). Results from preliminary reconnaissance work by Barrick during 1996 have been very encouraging and have outlined an initial target area of approximately 10km. by 7km. containing three persistent linear gold bearing zones. The Aceh area straddles the Sumatra Fault, a major regional structure and mineralized min·er·al·ize v. min·er·al·ized, min·er·al·iz·ing, min·er·al·iz·es v.tr. 1. To transform a metal into a mineral by oxidation. 3. feature which occupies the central part of a mineral district adjacent to CRA's Tangse copper-molybdenum prospect and Highlands Gold's Miwah gold-silver prospect and the recent "Beutong" copper prospect. Within this area, epithermal quartz vein systems associated with extensive argillic alteration have been located in three adjacent areas. The Company is currently evaluating the results of the 1996 work programs. Further work will continue throughout 1997. The Company has a 15 percent carried interest (through production) in the Aceh property with the option to acquire an additional 18 percent interest. The Aceh property is part of the Company's extensive 1,364,333 hectare land holding in five properties in Indonesia; 1,130,833 hectares of which are under joint venture with Barrick subsidiaries. The Company and Barrick have filed for a sixth Generation Contract of Work application covering the Aceh property. The Company also has a 10 percent carried interest (through production) in the 975,133 hectare Flores Flores, town, Guatemala Flores (flōrəs), town (1990 est. pop. 2,200), capital of Petén department, N Guatemala. Flores was built on an island in the southern part of Lake Petén Itzá and on the site of the property in a joint venture with Barrick, located on the island of Flores. The Flores property is immediately east of Newmont's world class "Batu Hijau" porphyry copper-gold deposit and west of the Lerokis volcanogenic vol·ca·no·gen·ic adj. Of volcanic origin. gold-copper deposit located on the adjacent islands of the Banda Arc. Exploration is continuing with an extensive stream geochemical and reconnaissance geological mapping program (70 percent complete) which has identified several anomalous areas for follow-up exploration which will continue throughout 1997. Total expenditures in the Company's Indonesian properties during 1997 are forecast at $US 7 million of which $US 4 million will be by joint venture partners.
