Dunguib frightens away Royal Bond opposition.

Byline: Brian Fleming

DUNGUIB, the horse that money can't buy, was installed a red-hot 2-5 favourite for the Bar One Racing Royal Bond Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Sunday, for which just seven of the original 26 entries have stood their ground.

The presence of the Weatherbys Champion Bumper The Champion Bumper is a Grade 1 National Hunt flat race in the United Kingdom for four to six-year-old horses. It is run over a distance of 2 miles 110 yards (3,319 metres) on the Old Course at Cheltenham Racecourse during the Cheltenham Festival in March.  winner, unbeaten in two starts over hurdles at Galway and Punchestown, has frightened off most of the opposition in the Grade 1 contest.

Philip Fenton, who trains Dunguib for Daniel Harnett and Lily Lawlor, said: "All the main dangers, Sweeps Hill, Some Present and Shinrock Paddy, are still standing but I'm happy with my fellow and he seems absolutely grand since his last run. He won't do a whole pile of work before Sunday, so we're looking forward to it."

"Brian turns pro on Friday, so it's a big race for him, too," Fenton added.

"I wish we had some genuine good to soft ground, but there is nothing we can do about that.

"At least we'll have the best of the ground, as it's the first hurdle race on the card on Sunday, which is good news."

Noel Meade could saddle four in the Bar One Racing Drinmore Novice Chase after leaving Fisher Bridge, Jered, Oscar Looby and Pandorama among 15 possibles.

"I honestly don't know who we'll run at this stage. We'll have to see how they all work later in the week," said the Navan-based trainer.

"One or possibly two might run, including Jered, but we'll have to wait and see."

Pesoto, trained by Edward O'Grady, is 9-2 favourite for the 2m4f Grade 1 chase and the in-form Tipperary trainer said yesterday: "The horse won well at Limerick Limerick, city, Republic of Ireland

"He jumped well and, while this is obviously a big step up in class for him, he coped with the testing conditions that day. Hopefully, that will stand him in good stead stead
