Duncan Orrell-Jones Promoted to Vice President of Finance for Walt Disney Feature Animation.BURBANK, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Oct. 14, 1999-- Duncan Orrell-Jones has been promoted to the position of vice president of finance for Walt Disney Feature Animation, it was announced today (10/14) by Thomas Schumacher, president of Walt Disney Feature Animation. In his new role, Orrell-Jones will oversee operational finance and accounting for Feature Animation's worldwide operations, including Disney's Burbank, Orlando and Paris animation studios. He will report directly to Schumacher and Jeffrey Farnath, senior vice president of business development and finance for Walt Disney Feature Animation. Commenting on the announcement, Schumacher said, "Duncan brings a wide variety of experience and expertise to his new position. I'm confident that, under his sound, progressive guidance, we will continue to become even more efficient as we pursue our very ambitious slate of projects." Since May 1997, Orrell-Jones has served as the director of finance and planning, during which time he has been responsible for developing and managing Feature Animation's labor, expense and capital investment budgets. In his previous two-year stint as manager of business planning, he was instrumental in developing business plans to support the growth of the division's worldwide operations, including plans for Feature Animation's digital studio, which is responsible for the forthcoming film "Dinosaur." After earning an M.B.A. from Emory University in Atlanta, Orrell-Jones joined Disney in 1993 as a senior financial analyst in the company's network television division. |
