Dunbar Armored Secures HR, Payroll Docs with Fortis.

HUNT VALLEY, Md., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Dunbar Armored, the nation's largest independent armored transportation company, is using Fortis document management software to manage its payroll and human resources records.

Dunbar's corporate headquarters occupy a 44,000 square-foot building, one that was filling up quickly with human resource documents. Keeping track of 3,700 employees nationwide is no small feat, and Dunbar's HR staff was starting to feel the pressure of too many files and not enough space. All of this data had to be kept accessible and up-to-date, yet secure.

HR Manager Carol Harmon began looking into document management and had several vendors present their offerings. Westbrook Technologies' Reseller Don Eichelberger, Independent Imaging Associates, Frederick, Md., won over Dunbar MIS staff, educating them about how Fortis would save them time and money without becoming an administrative hassle.

All of Dunbar's 3,000 employee files are now managed within Fortis, with the remaining and new employee information being scanned in daily. Terminated employee information is also retained in Fortis. Dunbar is now able to run searches, retrieve data and handle information immediately. Two walls, previously filled with 15 feet of paper files, are now cleared. "It looks great in here," said Harmon.

Fortis enables HR, payroll and worker's compensation employees to share files without any information going lost or missing. An HR clerk commented on how easy it is to obtain information regarding applications and background checks thanks to Fortis, which has been a vast improvement over Dunbar's manual processes.

"Dunbar is known as the most trusted name in security and for their reputation of safeguarding valuables. This includes the safeguarding of its employees' confidential information. The fact that they trust Fortis with this sensitive information says a lot about their confidence in the Fortis product and Independent Imaging Associates," said Westbrook Technologies' Director of Marketing Mitchell Hallock.
