Dumas and FEMA.

LAST WEEK'S HEADLINE IN Arkansas Business said it well: "Dumas Pulls Itself Together."

The residents of that southeast Arkansas town can rightly be proud of their effort to overcome the devastation of a tornado that heavily damaged many of the businesses and homes in the downtown area and leaving jobless some 750 to 800 workers out of a population of 5,000.

As proud as we are of Dumas residents, we are ashamed at that federal organization that is supposed to help in times of disasters--yes, we're talking about the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

We really like what Rep. Marion Berry said: "All I'm saying is FEMA is an incompetent bunch of nincompoops that simply cannot run their agency."
