The Company had previously announced his intent to retire from the Board at the end of 2004, but Mr. Zink has decided to accelerate his retirement for personal reasons. Commenting on his departure, Mr. Zink said, "I am very proud of what we built at Duke over the last 26 years. The Company has a well-earned reputation for industry leading performance and the highest standards of ethical conduct. I have every confidence that the current management team will make Duke even better.
