Duke Power to present check to American Red Cross; contribution to offset costs incurred by recent ice storm.


CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 1996--This afternoon, the Duke Power Company Foundation will make a contribution to the American Red Cross American Red Cross: see Red Cross.  at a special presentation at 2:30 p.m. at Duke Power's Electric Center, 526 South Church Street.

The $25,000 contribution is being make to offset costs Costs for which funds have been appropriated but will not be obligated because of a contingency operation. See also contingency operation.  incurred by the American Red Cross when shelters were opened following the recent ice storm.
