Dell has redesigned its OptiPlex line of desktop computers to enhance performance, manageability, deployment capabilities, security, and energy efficiency. The OptiPlex 320 ($585) offers basic manageability features and Intel Pentium D One of Intel's first dual-core 64-bit Pentium CPUs. Introduced in 2005 along with the Pentium Processor Extreme Edition 840, they both share the Intel 64 64-bit technology, but the Pentium D does not include Hyper-Threading.  processors. The OptiPlex 740 ($725) has AMD (Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, www.amd.com) A major manufacturer of semiconductor devices including x86-compatible CPUs, embedded processors, flash memories, programmable logic devices and networking chips.  Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processors. The Optiplex 745 ($899) has Intel Core The latest generation of the Intel x86 family of CPUs. Core supersedes the 13-year run of the Pentium, which was introduced in 1993. It essentially represents the ninth generation of the x86 architecture, the first chip appearing in the IBM PC in 1981.  2 Duo processors See Core Duo and Intel Core. . The machines are factory-set for improved power savings and can support Dell Client Manager, which allows administrators to remotely deploy, manage, and troubleshoot multiple units from a single console.
