Ducks defeat Sun Devils.

TEMPE, Ariz. - Gorana Maricic had 26 kills and 13 digs to lead the No. 21 Oregon volleyball team to its first victory in Tempe since Oct. 24, 1996, as the Ducks defeated Arizona State in four games on Thursday night.

Sonja Newcombe added 19 kills and 12 digs for Oregon, which hit .357 in the opening game as the Ducks came out hot and Maricic recorded 10 of her kills. Heather Meyers finished with 11 kills for the Ducks, and Katie Swoboda had 10 digs.

Neticia Enesi matched her season high with nine kills, hit .438 and added six total blocks for Oregon.

Marina Mercer had 72 assists - 30 in Game 2 alone - and 10 digs for the Sun Devils (8-8, 0-3). Sarah Reaves had 28 kills and 11 digs, and Margie Giordano added 18 kills and 11 digs. Alison Lund had 20 digs for ASU ASU Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ)

Arizona defeats Oregon State in three games

TUCSON, Ariz. - Randy Goodenough had 19 kills and eight digs as Arizona swept Oregon State 31-20, 30-26, 30-25.

Lexie Rathgeber and Rachel Rourke had 14 kills apiece for the Beavers (8-7 overall, 1-2 Pac-10). Ashley Evans had 15 digs and setter K.C. Marist alum joins UO women's golf staff

Marist High School graduate Meredith Jones joined the Oregon women's golf team as an assistant coach, the university announced Thursday.

Jones, who played collegiately at Baylor and Arizona State, won three individual state championships in high school. She went to ASU out of high school and transferred to Baylor after her freshman season.

Jones was an all-Big 12 Tournament selection all three seasons for the Bears and received academic all-American honors.
