Dubal receives ISO/IEC certification.

Dubai Aluminium Company Limited (Dubal), Dubai's state-owned enterprise that operates the world's largest modern primary aluminium smelter with a captive power station, has achieved ISO/IEC ISO/IEC International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission (ITU-T M 3000)  20000-1:2005 IT Service Management certification.

The company has not only implemented the processes based on IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library, www.itil.co.uk) One of the more comprehensive as well as non-proprietary and publicly available sets of guidelines for "best practice" IT services management, owned by the British Office of Government Commerce (OGC). ) -- an international framework that provides a comprehensive set of guidelines for excellence in IT Service Management (ITSM ITSM Information Technology Service Management

); but also obtained certification to ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005 -- the first international industry standard aimed specifically at ITSM, and which is aligned with and complementary to the process approach defined within ITIL.

Importantly, Dubal is the first Dubai government-owned company and the first manufacturing enterprise in the UAE (Uninterruptible Application Error) The name given to a crash in Windows 3.0. In subsequent versions of Windows, a crash was called a "General Protection Fault," "Application Error" or "Illegal Operation."
