History

It opened in November 2008, so it doesn't have much of a history. If anything, the mall's size (12 million square feet) makes it the region's largest; however, the its size can only be appreciated fully when all the shops have opened.

Dubai Mall was developed by Emaar Malls Group, a subsidiary of Dubai-based Emaar properties Emaar Properties (Arabic: إعمار), the Dubai-based Public Joint Stock Company and one of the world’s largest real estate companies, is listed on the Dubai Financial Market and is part of the Dow Jones Arabia Titans Index. .

Like other food courts, Dubai Mall's is equipped with numerous rows of soiled tables and chairs. However, unique to this mall is the outdoor area that boasts a waterfall. Dare we say it: we actually enjoyed the outdoor setting...although it could've been the taco.

Shopping

The mall's management promised a new shopping experience, and that's exactly what they delivered. Since the mall opened, we've maxed out our credit cards at stores we've never heard of before.

However, what the management failed to mention was the introduction of Book World by Kinokuniya. Our plans to join the hoards of expatriates fleeing the ailing emirate e·mir·ate

History

Opened in September 2005, the MoE changed Dubai's shopping experience. That sounds like a load of PR, but seriously, it really did happen. Before MoE, shoppers crammed into Deira City Centre's worn halls, elbowing each other for fun.

The mall is 2,400,352 square feet, although it is currently expanding its gross leasable area Gross leasable area (GLA) in the retail development industry is a term applied to shopping malls, lifestyle centers, outlet malls and other retail centers to indicate the amount of floor space available to be rented.  by 113,021 square feet. Food court

Possibly one of the loudest public spaces in Dubai, MoE's food courts are unfathomably loud, crowded and messy food courts. It's either because patrons consider the area a designated 'food fight' zone, or no one's cleaning the courts often enough. Or both.

And the food choice is nothing special.
