H. Russell Cross, former administrator of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety Inspection Service, joins DuPont, Wilmington, Del., as vice president for the newly formed DuPont Food Industry Solutions business. Food Industry Solutions is a part of DuPont Nutrition and Health. Its charter is to promote DuPont's science-based knowledge and experience through solutions to the food industry, primarily in food safety and productivity.

Most recently, Cross was CEO of Future Beef Operations, L.L.C. and, prior to that, director of IDEXX Food Safety Net, Inc. Between 1994 and 1997, he was director of the Institute of Food Science and Engineering and head of the department of animal science at Texas A&M University.
