DuPont will construct a $15 million corporate research and development facility near Shanghai, China, to support growth in the Asia Pacific region. The Shanghai center will accommodate up to 200 scientists and will include laboratories, offices and process bays for product application and development. In other news, DuPont and Koch Industries announced they have reached a definitive agreement to sell Invista, formerly DuPont Textiles & Interiors, to subsidiaries of Koch for $4.4 billion in cash. The two subsidiaries are KED Fiber Ltd. and KED Fiber, LLC. DuPont Engineering Polymers will create 20 new jobs with a polymer plant in Chesterfield County, VA. The plant will meet increasing demand for Zytel HTN high-performance polyamide resins with 30 million pounds per year of capacity.
