DuPont opens new automotive coatings facility in Japan.

 Automotive Systems See ITS, embedded system, drive-by-wire, adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance system, autonomous vehicle, heads-up display, DSRC, lane departure system, CAN bus, FlexRay and SYNC.  has opened a $10 million laboratory in Aichi Aichi (ī`chē), prefecture (1990 pop. 6,690,440), 1,962 sq mi (5,082 sq km), central Honshu, Japan. Bounded on the S and W by Ise Bay, Aichi consists of a coastal plain (the Nobi Plain) and a mountainous, forested interior.  Prefecture, Japan. The laboratory is focused on the development and testing of automotive and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  coatings for Japanese auto manufacturers in Japan and worldwide, as well as the support of home country assembly operations. The facility, known as DuPont Aichi Coatings Laboratory, will employ approximately 30 scientists and be managed by DuPont and DuPont Shinto Automotive Systems, a joint venture between DuPont and the Shinto Paint Company. The facility's general manager will be Isao Matsuura, who has been with DuPont Japan for 26 years.
