Performance Elastomers, Wilmington, DE, announced the opening of its business entity in China, DuPont Performance Elastomers Trading (Shanghai Shanghai (shăng`hī`, shäng`hī`), city (1994 est. pop. 12,980,000), in, but independent of, Jiangsu prov., E China, on the Huangpu (Whangpoo) River where it flows into the Chang (Yangtze) estuary. ) Ltd. The move follows the inauguration INAUGURATION. This word was applied by the Romans to the ceremony of dedicating some temple, or raising some man to the priesthood, after the augurs had been consulted. It was afterwards applied to the installation (q.v. of the company's state-of-the-art research and development center in Shanghai in 2005.
