DuPont Co.
DuPont Co., Wilmington, Del., and Monsanto Co., St. Louis, resolved
their dispute over the use of Monsanto's insect-protected corn.
trait. DuPont said the resolution includes the dismissal of several
lawsuits filed by both parties in U.S. District Courts in St. Louis and
Rockford, Ill. over the development, use and licensing of
Monsanto's MON810 YieldGard corn trait.
DuPont sells corn seed to farmers, and Monsanto's corn trait
helps to protect the corn from insects, said DuPont subsidiary Pioneer
Hi-Bred International. Under the agreement, Pioneer Hi-Bred will
continue to offer its customers Monsanto's corn hybrids under a
royalty-bearing license.
