DrugLogic Inc. Announces Roll out of Qscan Version 3.

RESTON, Va. -- DrugLogic(TM), Inc. is pleased to announce Qscan(TM) Version 3 to be rolled out later this summer for all current Qscan(TM) implementations; Qscan(TM) PRO (proprietary data application) as well as Qscan(TM) FDA (FOI, AERS data) and Qscan(TM) World (WHO-UMC data). Qscan(TM) is DrugLogic's flagship product used to monitor and analyze both drug company proprietary adverse event data and publicly available data. New features of version 3 will be demonstrated at the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE) conference in Bordeaux 22-25 August.

Version 3 of Qscan(TM) incorporates improvements that provide a dramatic increase in performance, by a factor of 10 to 20, and adds an extensive array of new functions to support data mining, data browsing and collaborative workgroup activities. The new architecture for Qscan, with several patents pending, has been completely revamped to provide the user the ability to control queries and presentations "on-the-fly" with real time multi-dimensional displaying and execution of analysis. The list of new function included in Qscan(TM) Version 3 enhances every aspect of Qscan search and analytics and includes:

--  A new custom reporting system

    --  An intuitive Boolean logic screen, to create the complex
        searches needed for drug cocktails syndromes, and user defined
        dimensions

    --  A batch series engine that can be applied to ALL other
        engines, to create times series, drug comparisons, and custom
        side by side comparisons

    --  Options for stratification in proportional analysis for ALL
        algorithms

    --  A new statistic, the Information Component (IC) of the BCPNN,
        and the attendant confidence intervals

    --  Two-dimensional displays and graphing to allow user defined
        presentations such as reactions and outcomes against age,
        gender or concomitant drugs

    --  Associations, stratification, re-profiling, and many others

Version 3 adds an extensive custom reporting system that gives the user complete control over format of the text, graphs and tables of the report. The basis of the report system is a simple file saving and "media bin" concept. Reports are created using an innovative storyboard paradigm that allows the user to assemble each piece of the report, annotate charts and tables, add text pages and then print or save the report. Qscan's report system is integral to the application and will not require any external license.

A new home page has been devised to pull together these new features, saving the user many steps to accomplish sophisticated and complex data analysis in a simple and rapid way. The command page is also the launch point for collaborative project management and for the new storyboard oriented custom reporting system.

The Qscan version 3 will provide a new level of capability in pharmacovigilance and research. The application to drug safety, clinical trials and basic discovery will be further enhanced over time, as it has been in the past. These improvements will be provided free of additional charge to subscribers of Qscan in its various implementations.
