History Founded in 1960, the chain started with three stores, named after the location of the company's warehouse between Duane and Reade Streets on Broadway in lower Manhattan. , at East Coast, its luxury rental complex in Long Island City. Duane Reade has signed a 15-year lease in this, the second of Rockrose's two East Coast rental towers. Duane Reade is expected to open in 2008 when the second tower is completed.
