Dropping anchor.

Ever wonder what happened to Andy Pearson after he chose not to renegotiate his contract with KTHV-TV, Channel 11, back in December?

He's making the leap from the news desk to ... whatever kind of desk it is that financial advisers sit in.

Pearson passed his Series 7 (stockbroker) test and was hired by UBS Financial Services Inc., where he'll now undergo about five months of training beginning April 2.

So why the switch?

"The television business had sort of changed, and the single thing I enjoyed most about it was the ability to help people and tell their stories," said Pearson. "What better way to help someone than to do it financially? That could potentially last for generations."
