Drivers warned as glove boxes raided.

DRIVERS were today being urged to defend themselves against car thieves.

Police in Cardiff have warned against a spate of car crime across the city, particularly in Roath, Ely, Canton and Cardiff Bay, in recent weeks.

Officers say gloveboxes are being targeted.

Police Sergeant James O'Donnell from the Community Safety department, in Cardiff, said: "Our advice for the Easter Holidays is when you park your vehicle is to leave the glovebox open with nothing inside it. This should deter any criminals thinking of breaking the car window to conduct a search."

But check the glovebox light won't stay on and flatten your battery.
