Driver knocked out in assault.


A MAN suffered serious injuries after he was assaulted in Southport while driving his car.

Merseyside Police Merseyside Police is the Home Office police force responsible for policing Merseyside in North West England.

 are appealing for witnesses to the serious assault which occurred in Guildford Road, at around 6.45pm on Thursday.

Police are keen to speak to a man who it is believed was driving a white, pick-up type van.

He is described as white, in his late twenties to early thirties, 6ft tall of large build and scruffy scruff·y
