A KINMEL Bay-based company is to work as a carrier on a nationwide drinks operation.

Cooper Carriers will deliver products for the CERT drinks network delivering drinks to major food retailers, wholesalers, cash and carry warehouses and convenience stores The following is a list of convenience stores organized by geographical location. Stores are grouped by the lowest heading that contains all locales in which the brands have significant presence. .

The new network has been created by national logistics provider the CERT Group to grow its drinks business by offering a complete supply chain to manufacturers of wines, beer, spirits and other drinks.

CERT, which employs 500 staff across 11 locations throughout the UK, is also the UK's leading wines and spirits bonded warehousing operator.

Cooper Carriers, with 130 staff and a transport fleet of 48 vehicles, says the link-up will bring significant new business growth opportunities. Its turnover last year was pounds 5.8m.

With the establishment of the network, the CERT Group is looking to increase the number of drinks cases it handles from 35m to 50m by the end of 2006.

Cooper Carriers has been a partner of the CERT Group for eight years, helping the company to deliver consumer products around the UK. The Welsh company will be responsible for distributing drinks, including household brands such as Red Bull, from the CERT drinks network hub See hub and hub vs. switch.  in Leicester to North and mid Wales Mid Wales is the name given to the area of Wales between North Wales and South Wales. It borders England via the Welsh Marches to the east and the Irish Sea via Cardigan Bay to the west (West Wales is to the south-west). .

Paul Bailey, general operations manager at Cooper Carriers, said: "The CERT drinks network complements our other logistics operations and provides us with additional business opportunities. Similarly, as a leading player in the distribution sector, we are able to support the CERT drinks network with our transport expertise and resources."

CERT group chief executive Jeff Stanton said: "We look forward to developing our relationship further with Cooper Carriers as a result of the creation of the CERT drinks network.

"We are able to provide an unrivalled drinks operation to our customers using the resources of our established and highly professional logistics partners, whilst Cooper Carriers will be able to grow their business as we significantly increase the volumes of drinks products we and our partners handle over the next year."
