Drinks advice.


MORE help is on hand for people with drink problems.

Gateshead residents with alcohol-related problems can get advice from The Gateshead Housing Company and North East Council on Addictions.

Claire Humphrey, of NECA NECA National Electrical Contractors Association
NECA National Exchange Carrier Association
NECA National Electrical and Communications Association (Australia)
NECA National Electricity Code Administrator (Australia) 
, will work with the housing company's neighbourhood relations team for two days a week to help customers affected by alcohol misuse.

As well as offering advice, she can hold a oneto-one counselling session for people wanting help on cutting drinking.

"Brief intervention A Brief intervention is a technique, similar to an intervention, to help reduce alcohol misuse. It work in two ways:
  • by getting people to think differently about their alcohol use so that they begin to think about or make changes in their alcohol consumption.
 works best with people who have accepted they may have a problem," she said.
