Drilling yields high grade values at Radisson's O'Brien mine site.

ROUYN-NORANDA, Quebec--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 9, 1996-- Radisson Mining Resources Inc. has announced preliminary results from the winter drilling program at its O'Brien mine site that indicate gold grades higher than any found to date and far better than company geologists had anticipated.

Among results from early assays of drill cores taken from Zone 36E located 2,000 feet east of the main mine shaft shaft (shaft) a long slender part, such as the diaphysis of a long bone.

The O'Brien mine, located in Northwestern Quebec, has produced more than 600,000 ounces of gold in its lifetime which earned it the title of the "richest producing mine in Quebec" when it was producing 0.47 ounces per ton.

Radisson's executive vice-president, Guy Parent, finds the results very encouraging. "This is really good news," he said. "The grades of gold vastly exceeded grades recovered during last year's drilling program. It means Zone 36E at O'Brien may yield far richer returns than previously thought-closer to those found at O'Brien during its earlier high-producing period."

Radisson's earlier exploration efforts at the historic mining site had confirmed and identified gold resources totalling more than 200,000 ounces and ore reserves in the region of one million tons. These figures equate e·quate

Results from the first drill hole, drilled deeper than previous drilling, include:

At a depth of; 1,130 feet, 0.16 ounces per ton (over 3. 0 feet)

It includes 20 mining claims on 1,419 acres as well as the mine itself which is being re-worked and held under option with Breakwater breakwater, offshore structure to protect a harbor from wave energy or deflect currents. When it also serves as a pier, it is called a quay; when covered by a roadway it is called a mole.  Resources Ltd. Radisson has mineral rights to, or owns options in, 14 properties in Northern Quebec including the O'Brien mine area. They comprise 689 claims, a mining concession and a mining lease covering more than 13,000 hectares.

Radisson Mining, with headquarters at Rouyn-Noranda and corporate offices in Toronto, intends to drill a minimum of 16 holes totalling 40,000 ft of drilling on Zone 36E during the winter program.
