Drilling to Resume at Odyssey's Tavsan Gold Project in Turkey; Company Plans for Future Development of Tavsan Project.

TORONTO -- Avrom E. Howard, President and CEO of Odyssey Resources Limited (TSXv:ODX) discusses the positive realities of the Company's exploration project in western Turkey. Tavsan, located 60 kilometres northeast of Eldorado Gold's Kisladag gold deposit, hosts a sediment-hosted, bulk-tonnage Historic gold Resource (please refer to the Company's news release dated August 11, 2004).

On September 15, 2004 the Company announced completion of an independent geological report that mapped out a positive direction for the Tavsan gold project and provided the Company with an encouraging prognosis leading to the potential for developing this project. Odyssey's goal at Tavsan is to advance it through development, providing shareholders with the greatest possible value.

The reality of many low-grade, disseminated gold deposits is that they require a large tonnage in order to offset the costs of production due to location, strip ratios, metallurgy and development. However, there are also several smaller deposits which have been profitably developed and mined due to the right combination of favorable factors. Foremost among these factors at Tavsan is the potential for a nearly zero strip ratio as the mineralized zones are exposed at surface.

Additionally, Tavsan is metallurgically simple: standard bottle roll leach tests of five samples from reverse circulation drill reject material were completed by Kappes, Cassiday & Associates, in 1997 (on behalf of Teck Cominco, the company from which Tavsan has been optioned), achieved gold recoveries of between 91.8 to 97.5 percent. Also, Tavsan is easily accessible and located close to all the infrastructure and labour required for development, and it is in the center of an historic mining district. All of these factors have been reviewed in the recently prepared report by Odyssey's independent geological consultant Greg Maynard, MSc, PGeo (Arizona). Therefore, Management believes that Tavsan represents an attractive project where the discovery and development costs will be low.

Consequently, a drill rig has been mobilized to the Tavsan property and a follow up drill program will commence immediately. This program will test a chain of gold-bearing jasperiod bodies lying on surface that curves north and east from the Main Zone (the Historic Resource). The previous Odyssey drill program, completed in August 2004, comprised 20 core holes totaling 1067.7 metres and 244 samples (please refer to the Company's news release dated June 10, 2004).

The current program will comprise roughly 20 short vertical core holes with the goal of delineating additional surface-exposed gold-mineralized jasperoid, sufficient to test and demonstrate the continuation of at and near-surface gold mineralization significantly beyond the boundaries of the known Historic Resource. Upon successful completion, an independent resource estimate will be undertaken, followed by the additional drilling necessary to move this project through to the preparation of a Pre-Feasibility study.
