Drilling Planned for Dickstone; Appointment of Executives.

VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 10, 1998--Gregory J. Binning, Director of Foran Mining Corporation (VSE:FOM) announces that the Company will implement the recommendations from Roger Lemaitre, P.Eng., an independent engineering consultant, respecting a summer drill program on the Dickstone Property. The Dickstone Property is being optioned by Foran by assignment of an option from Falconbridge Limited as part of the group of mineral interests being acquired by Foran from M'Ore Exploration Services Ltd. The Dickstone Property is a former producer located in the Flin Flon Greenstone Belt and hosts two known VMS deposits hosting an estimated unmined resource of approximately 300,000 tonnes averaging 2.4% copper, 4% zinc and 10 g/t silver and .34 g/t gold in two separate lenses.

Previous operators extracted approximately 775,000 tonnes by mining to a maximum depth of 350 metres with the remaining resource located below to this level to the 600 metre level and which is open at depth. The independent engineering report suggests that the known sulphide ore bodies and host rhyolites have been influenced by isoclinal folding and have relatively short strike lengths which plunge steeply to the south. Previous exploration concentrated on testing long strike length tabular conductors. Because both lenses are located on different stratigraphic horizons within the Dickstone formation rhyolites, there is the potential for multiple potential VMS host horizons. A two-phase exploration program is recommended of which one phase would consist of deep drilling of the known deposit area and the other phase comprising follow up geophysical work of new targets to the south of the previous mine. The known lenses have only been sporadically tested below 500 metres with true thickness seemingly remaining fairly consistent at depth. Six new target areas have been identified for follow-up exploration work. Five of these are untested short strike length EM conductors with the highest priority target within 250 metres south of the old No.1 mine shaft on-strike on folded stratigraphy adjacent to a deep pulse EM anomaly. Previous underground holes drilled on roughly the same section intersected six foot intervals grading comparable mineralization.

Foran's Chief Executive Officer, Neil Briggs has been appointed President replacing Mr. McMeekin who will remain as a Director. Mr. Doug Robb, a Vancouver Island businessman has been appointed Vice President, Corporate Development.
