Drew Jacoby.

Drew Jacoby is known for her sumptuous extensions and powerhouse attack. At 22 the Dance Magazine "It" Girl and Princess Grace Award winner has already made a name for herself. This February the former member of Alonzo King's LINES Ballet left San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  and moved cross-country to leap into the New York City New York City: see New York, city.

? Why now?

I've gotten a lot out of being in LINES for four years. Alonzo did one-on-one work with me, which was great, but I want to open myself up to new choreography. I'm just recovering from an injury, so it's a good time for me to start over.

Do you have any gigs lined up?

Dwight Rhoden of Complexions, who's interested in working with me. I've also been contacting galas like the International Ballet Festival of Miami. Alonzo is going to choreograph a solo for me, so I'll have that to perform. Getting in touch with galas is one of the things Rasta Thomas said to do.

Rasta is working a lot as a freelance artist. Do you ever worry that it will be more difficult as a woman?

It's more difficult for women in general, because men are more in demand. I'm not stuck on the freelance idea, but it seems like the logical thing to do. It's harder for me to fit into a company setting because of who I am.

You've been modeling for as long as you've been dancing. How has that been going?

I just had a photo shoot with Peter Z Jones, who does movement and high fashion photography. I wore my pointe shoes. I think the photos will be new and fresh.

Tell me about your interest in environmental issues.

I'm very into organic foods and health. I like researching global warming, sustainable living, and having a green home. It's something I might pursue when I'm done dancing.

What are people surprised to learn about you?

That I eat a loft I love everything, especially ethnic foods.

What is your biggest indulgence?

TV! I watch "Arrested Development," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," the British "Office," and all the reality TV shows including "America's Next Top Model “ANTM” redirects here. For the Australian series, see Australia's Next Top Model.

Who are your favorite dancers, currently?

Sofiane Sylve with New York City Ballet New York City Ballet, one of the foremost American dance companies of the 20th cent. It was founded by Lincoln Kirstein and George Balanchine as the Ballet Society in 1946. . She's so versatile and dynamic. I can't wait to get to see her dance. And all the tall ballerinas out there who show the world that it can be done.
