Dressing up wine bottles.

Dressing up wine bottles Accessorize your wine bottles this season with elegant bow ties. Their elastic collars can catch wine drips before they reach the Christmas tablecloth.

For each bow, buy 2 feet of ribbon (we used 2-1/2-inc-wide checkered) and 4-1/2 inches of 3/4-inch-wide elastic. You'll also need scissors, a ruler, needle, and matching thread.

First, hand-stitch elastic into a circular collar, overlapping ends 3/4 inch (step A). To make the bow, cut a 21-1/2-inch length of ribbon, then roll it into a four-layer coil (B); pin together, overlapping ends 1 inch. For bow's center, fold remaining 2-1/2-inch-long ribbon across width into thirds (C). Wrap around bow and through the elastic collar, and stitch together at back.
