Shawmut's ability to perform challenging occupied renovations has helped set it apart in the crowd.

Few industries can afford to close their doors while construction occurs, but for retail locations, it can be devastating dev·as·tate

. Keeping Van Cleef & Arpels open during construction, and ready with its key new flagship space immediately after Thanksgiving, illustrates Shawmut's strength in performing occupied renovations in hectic urban environments.

Said Hiscoe, "Shawmut's Retail Division recognized the impact [a closure] would have on the store's business and offered a way of phasing the construction that would allow Van Cleef & Arpels to remain open. "

Shawmut Retail complements the company's other areas of construction management expertise, from nationally-recognized restaurants such as New York's Masa, Per Se and Nobu 57, to challenging historical preservation projects.
